Excited for the tea party and want to step up your snack game? Get ideas for putting together a three-tiered menu of savories, breads, and sweets, and follow along as we make tea sandwiches and easy pastries to enjoy tomorrow!


Ingredients


Spinach & Feta Pastry

Ingredients:

  • Ready-to-bake puff pastry, thawed (crescent roll dough also works!)

  • Frozen chopped spinach

  • Feta cheese, crumbled (add other shredded cheeses as well if you like)

  • Spices to taste (garlic, salt, pepper, onion powder)

  • One egg, beaten (for an egg wash)


Tools: oven, baking sheet with parchment, knife and cutting board for pastry, bowl for mixing filling, spatula or spoon, whisk or pastry brush


Tea Sandwiches

Ingredients:

  • Sliced bread (I’m using pumpernickel; you may be able to find “English toasting bread” which also works very well)

  • Butter, softened to room temperature

  • Herbs to taste (I’m using rosemary and mint; dill, chives, basil, etc. are also good – go with what you like!)

  • Cucumber (best are the English cucumbers which come wrapped in plastic, they have a thinner skin)


Tools: bowl for mixing butter, spatula, knife and cutting board, kitchen scissors for herbs, cookie cutter of similar diameter to the cucumber (optional)
