Thank you so much for your interest in participating as a vendor in Bay Area Kei events! One of our primary goals is to promote J-fashion indie brands and artists by introducing our event attendees to new brands. To best help you succeed, we ask that all participating vendors follow the procedures and deadlines listed below so we can put out promotional material in time before any given event.


What we offer to participating vendors:

  • Promotion of your shop on our social media and web page before and during the event 

  • A dedicated Discord channel in our event server to promote your wares and chat to attendees

  • Advertisements broadcasted between our livestreamed event programming 

  • Social media assets to advertise yourself as a participant in the event

  • Once an event is over, we will list and link your store on our “Affiliated Shops” page​


Ways you can choose to participate as a shop include: 

  • Releasing a new collection or items for our timed release dates

  • Providing a discount code or sales event for our timed release dates

  • Acting as a sponsor by providing prizes or discount codes for our contests

  • If you have other ways you’d like to participate in order to have us advertise your storefront, please contact us directly and we can discuss!


Who can apply:

  • J-fashion indie brands: this includes any storefront that sells J-fashion garments or accessories

  • J-fashion artists: this includes vendors that sell J-fashion-themed illustrations, merchandise (pins, prints, bags, mousepads, folders, etc.), and commissions

  • J-fashion stockists: this applies if you are a J-fashion shop that sells items for multiple brands or artists

Please note that going forward, we will have three categories for our vendors to apply under, for ease of organization for our attendees and to be more inclusive towards our artist friends! We are only accepting established vendors with sales history. 

If you agree to participate in our virtual events, you are agreeing to:

  • Provide us with promotional imagery for your storefront and brand for our use on our social media and website.

  • Provide us with information and images of any collections or items you will be releasing for the event for our usage on our social media and website. 

  • Use the shared Google Drive folder we provide to submit the above listed images and information.

  • Timely communication via email.

  • Follow all Bay Area Kei deadlines for providing us with images and information.


If you are interested in joining our vendor mailing list, please email us directly to ask to be notified of all upcoming events. If you have vended with us before, you will be put on the mailing list automatically and can request to be removed if you would no longer like email updates. Brand selection for all events is a juried process, so please provide examples of past work for us to view. We reserve the right to reject applications at our discretion, for reasons such as, but not limited to: experience, quality, and relevance to our events. If you were turned down previously, please feel free to reapply to future events! 



The next upcoming event that Bay Area Kei is taking vendor applications for is our in-person Holiday Pop-Up Shop. This event will be held in the Kabuki Hotel in Japantown, San Francisco, from December 11th-12th.

  • We are accepting applications from J-fashion indie brands and J-fashion illustrators/artists,.

  • The form will close on November 7th, and we will send confirmations no later than November 9th. Please check your spam box if you do not receive either an acceptance or rejection by November 9th!

  • Please note that we will be jurying the applications based on criteria such as quality of work and sales experience.
