ACCESSIBILITY

Bay Area Kei strives to create a safe, inclusive environment for all event attendees, including its staff members, guests, and vendors.


The registration desk, located on the Garden Level, will have accessibility badges available for attendees who would like to visually display that they may require accessibility accommodations.

VENUE

Ursa Major’s venue, Hotel Kabuki, includes an accessible public entrance and a variety of features throughout. You can find these accessibility features listed in full on their hotel information page.


  • The Mezzanine is accessible via wheelchair lift. Please ask Ursa Major staff at the Info Desk for access to the lift.

  • The Garden Level is accessible via the main lobby elevators.

  • Minimum wheelchair passage clearance is maintained throughout the venue.

SEATING

Ursa Major events with seating, including panels, workshops, and the holiday ball, will have priority seating available for attendees with accessibility needs. Proceed directly to the entrance of these events to be seated by a staff member along with your party.


Shopping areas with entrance queues will have limited seating available to use while waiting. Please see a staff member in these areas for assistance.

QUIET ROOM

A Quiet Room with seating and water is located in the Kosakura Room on the Mezzanine.

To avoid crowds and lines as much as possible, we recommend visiting shopping areas towards closing times. Please consider bringing your own accommodative devices for a more comfortable experience at our convention, such as the following:


  • Folding stool

  • Hand fan

  • Headphones and/or ear protection

  • Sunglasses

  • Stim toys

ILLNESS

We ask that if you feel sick, please stay home. You may request a refund due to illness by contacting us directly at bayareakei@gmail.com.

COVID-19 POLICY

  • Face masks are strongly recommended in our shopping and event areas.

  • We will be limiting the number of people allowed inside our event spaces at once to prevent overcrowding and ensure attendee safety. Please social distance whenever possible, and be respectful of others' personal space.


Due to the unpredictable nature of public health and safety, we reserve the right to introduce additional restrictions at any time.
