The Library (or Li-bear-y) is a physical collection of fashion magazines, manga, artbooks, reference books, and more, available for attendees to browse! If you’re looking to sit and relax, swing by and check out our ursa-mazing selection.

LIBRARY DONATIONS
Looking to offload some J-fashion media? The Ursa Major Library is accepting donations of physical J-fashion media in good condition. Please drop off any donations at the Info Desk during open hours!
Donations that are accepted by Bay Area Kei shall become the sole property of Bay Area Kei. After acceptance, donors will not be permitted to rescind or revoke their gifts, and are not entitled to the return of their gifts.
COMMUNITY ZINE FEATURE
We are looking for community-created books, zines, comics, and other types of printed media to feature in our library! If you have produced any type of J-fashion printed media and are interested in being featured, please fill out the application form.
Some examples of types of media we are accepting include:
Fiction (e.g. stories about J-fashion)
Non-fiction (e.g. explaining or documenting the history of a substyle)
Graphic novel/comic
Memoir/autobiographical
Commentary/critique
Photobook/art book
Guidelines
We are accepting applications featuring J-fashion or alternative fashion zines, books, comics, or other types of printed media.
We are only accepting works submitted by the author or a project organizer. No works submitted on another person’s or group’s behalf will be accepted.
Once selected, participants are responsible for shipping one copy of their publication to Bay Area Kei at their own expense. Bay Area Kei is not responsible for any damage or loss in transit.
Before the event, Bay Area Kei will feature the publications on both social media and web.
During the event, the publications will be displayed in our physical library with signage about each featured item.
Applications will be juried based on relevance of work.
Submitted content that utilizes AI in any way, shape, or form will be automatically rejected.
