Panel applications will open on April 11th and close April 25th, at 11:59 PM PDT

Thank you for your interest in hosting a panel for Ursa Major²! All panels will be live-streamed via Twitch from May 28th through May 30th. You may choose to stream on your own account, or stream through our Twitch account to have us manage your tech.

Please note that due to time constraints, we can only fit a limited number of panels into our programming. We will be jurying panel ideas based on (but not limited to) these criteria:

  • Experience hosting in-person or virtual panels

  • Expertise on the proposed topic

  • Relevance to the event theme

  • Uniqueness of topic

  • Opportunities for audience interaction.

For this event we are allowing panelists to host/participate in a maximum of TWO panels. Please submit a separate form for each panel.

All submitted panels will receive an automatic confirmation email/receipt. Please be sure to click all the way to the end and contact us if you do not see your automatic confirmation email from Google. (This receipt does not mean your panel has been accepted for the event.)

Panel submission deadline: April 25th, 2021 at 11:59PM PDT

  • We will send out all panel acceptances and rejections by April 28th. Please check your spam inbox if you do not see an email by then.

  • If you are streaming from your personal Twitch account, you must add the BayAreaKei Twitch account as a moderator. We will also assign at least one other volunteer to moderate your stream. Please set your auto moderation to low/off. We will take care of moderating the panel for you!

  • If you have not presented a panel with us before, please link us to at least 1 example slide of how you plan for your presentation to be formatted with notes or talking points, or other examples of your previous work. (For example, if you are planning a craft stream, show us what you're planning to make and let us know your previous experiences in teaching a craft. Please reach out to us directly if you are unsure of what  information to submit.)

  • You must do a tech test with our team if you do not already regularly stream to Twitch, or have not presented a virtual panel with us before. We will reach out to all panelists to schedule group tech rehearsals after panel acceptances are sent out. Please leave a note in the comments section of this form if you are presenting in a way that requires special attention (playing a video, audience participation, setting up a 2nd camera, coordinating with a guest panelist, etc.)

  • We will upload all panels to YouTube after the event. If you have a personal YouTube channel and would like to upload the panel to your own account, please check that option in the appropriate field.

  • Please note all times in this form are in Pacific Time (PT). You can convert your time zone to PT here.
